Lenzkirch – in the Black Forest

Lenzkirch is located in the heart of the Black Forest. With approximately 5,000 inhabitants, the town has held the title of “health resort with a therapeutic climate” for many years, indicating a mild, stimulating climate.

The charming landscape between Lake Schluchsee and the 1,100-meter-high Pflumberg to the south, Windgfällweiher and Feldberg (1,493m) to the west near Lake Titisee, and the 1,192-meter-high Hochfirst to the north, is crossed by two picturesque valleys, the Haslach and Ursee valleys. The Haslach and Gutach rivers merge at the eastern boundary of the town to form the widely renowned nature reserve of the Wutach Gorge.

Many attractions are easily accessible by bus or train, or you can hike directly from the guesthouse along the well-marked trails of the Schwarzwaldverein. There are two premium trails to discover: the Schluchten- und Viaduktepfad in the Kappel district, and the Hirtenpfad in the Raitenbuch district. For little hikers, there are children’s trails such as Kucky’s Bird World in Lenzkirch and Kuhnigunde’s Cool Cow Path in the Saig district. The clock collection in the Lenzkirch Kurhaus is also well worth a visit.
